What is a Pantry Makeover?
Well, we don’t come to your home and paint or decorate your pantry. The Pantry Makeover is a component of the Traffic Light Eating program (See below) developed by the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. The goal of Traffic Light Eating is to help you identify foods as either Red (Stop), Yellow (Slow) or Green (Go) foods. The concept is a simple way to help you make better choices regardless of where you are on your personal nutrition journey.
Your Pantry Makeover starts with some education on Traffic Light Eating, Healthy Substitutions, and the Dirty Dozen List. We also teach you a simple way to read and understand food labels.
Next, you join in as we look through your pantry and refrigerator to help identify your existing food items as either: Red, Yellow, or Green. Together we will identify which foods are best for you to eliminate and those that you may want to add to your diet.
After we’ve gone over your current food supply, we help you create a healthier shopping list. The shopping list will help you with moving your pantry & fridge more towards Green. Change is a process. Our efforts are very low key and respectful. We don’t grade you, your pantry, or what you eat. Our goal is to help you make the best decisions nutritionally for you and your family.
If you are in need of additional support, we offer package options where we go with you to the grocer. During the shopping excursion we help you apply this new knowledge. We also offer other nutritional counseling services as well as ongoing coaching calls. Our team will continue supporting you on your journey toward better health. Cost: $100/hour. Most Pantry Makers can be done in 1 -2 hours. Shopping excursions typically add an additional 1-2 hours.

Traffic Light Eating is a component of the L.E.A.N. Start program developed by the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. The goal of the Traffic Light Eating program is to help individuals and families identify foods as either Red (Stop), Yellow (Slow) or Green (Go) foods. This concept is a simple way to help you make better food choices no matter where you are. Our Health Coach has been certified through the Dr. Sears Institute and knows how to share the Traffic Light Eating concepts. This program is available to groups or individuals and may be completed in 1 day or over the course of 6 sessions.
We apply the principles of Traffic Light Eating to our Health Coaching, Nutrition Counseling, and our Pantry Makeover programs. The principals of Traffic Light Eating are geared toward helping you identify which foods are best for you to eliminate and those that you may want to add to your diet. We help by identifying the best oils, breads, meats, sweeteners, dairy, and other beneficial foods. We also help you identify what items to steer clear of.
